Welcome to Dorkville: The Conclusion

Some of you may remember that when I first started blogging I had a short countdown going of what my favorite videogames were. It was mostly filler since at the time I was stil figuring out to how transition to the Blogosphere from GeoCities. I stopped doing it because I felt it was pretty pointless for all the space (and time) it was taking up. Well since Cinco de Piddy is made up completely of lists, now looks to be the time and the place for the conclusion of the list.

But first a quick recap...

20) Star Fox (Super Nintendo)
19) Tecmo Super Bowl (Nintendo Entertainment System)
18) Double Dragon II (Arcade)
17) Mega Man II (Nintendo Entertaimnent System)
16) Panic Bomber (Virtual Boy)
15) Perfect Dark (Nintendo 64)
14) Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (Super Nintendo)
13) Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (SEGA Genesis)

And now for the conclusion of the list:
12) Viewtiful Joe (Nintendo Gamecube)
11) Mario Tennis (Nintendo 64)
10) Super Smash Bros. Melee (Nintendo Gamecube)
9) Super Mario Bros. (Nintendo Entertainment System)
8) Crazy Taxi (SEGA Dreamcast)
7) Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! (Nintendo Entertainment System)
6) Animal Crossing (Nintendo Gamecube)

Terence's Top 5 Favorite Videogames of All Time
5) Dance Dance Revolution (Sony PlayStation/PS2)
4) Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting (Arcade)
3) Tetris (Nintendo Game Boy)
2) Super Mario Bros. 3 (Nintendo Entertainment System)
1) The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Nintendo 64)

There. Now I've gotten that out of my system.

Top 5 Favorite Bands

Honorable Mention: Angie Aparo & The Infidels. It wouldn't have been fair to put them in this list because I liked all of Angie's stuff before he got a band.

5) Straylight Run - new, I know. But I like all of their stuff.
4) U2
3) The Pixies
2) The Cure
1) Aerosmith

I'm pretty certain that I like The Cure & The Pixies better than I like Aerosmith, but they got the nod since a) their newer stuff doesn't suck as bad as the newer stuff from the Pixies/Cure and b) they were the first "white band" that I've ever really liked. Surprisingly without the influence of the Run-DMC collaboration. I was partial to "Janie's Got a Gun."

Top 5 Fighting Games

5) Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (Multiple)
4) Soul Calibur (Dreamcast)
3) Super Smash Bros. Melee (Gamecube)
2) King of Fighters '99 (Neo*Geo)
1) Street Fighter Alpha 3 (PlayStation/Dreamcast)

IMO - Mortal Kombat / Tekken = Garbage

From the Vault: Volume Three - Top 5 Favorite Group Pictures

5) 1999-2000 South Carolina Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Officers

I don't think I've ever been part of such a scripted "silly" group picture. Great times though.
Interesting Trivia: A similar shot was used for the official SC FBLA state program, except it was only taken from the waist up. Hence why we have on jeans.

4) 2003 Clemson University Ambassadors

This whole picture is a big lie. None of the people in this picture are a orderly and polite as they appear. Accept for maybe Chris Manley. But what an awesome lie it was though. Like the FBLA Officer pic, an alternate (silly) version of this picture exists.
Interesting Trivia: Tripp is short. Mandy is tall.

3) 2002 Clemson University Welcome Back Festival

I had to talk to Jimmy B for 20 mins just to hold him there while Black Mike ran back to his room to get his camera. Only time I've ever asked questions like "So how do you feel Clemson is doing in its goal for more diversification," "What do you think about being ranked the No. 2 party school," and "Do you think there will be more significant increases in tuition?"
Interesting Trivia: Liam put the moves on Mrs. Barker. That's why Pres. Barker is standing there with the "Number 1" sign. We don't think he was too happy about that.

2) 1999 LEAD Summer Business Institute (Minneapolis, Minnesota)

(ltor: Cornell, Clemson, Michigan State, UofChicago, UofSouth Carolina)
Another shot of a young(er) Terence. I love this shot. It was an awesome day on Lake Minnetonka, fully paid for by General Mills, 3M, and Wells Fargo. The whole trip to Minnesota was a great experience, but this was definitely one of the best parts. Too bad Brenda's van driving afterwards was not.
Interesting Trivia: The company that was commissioned to charter our lake trip was the same one that the Minnesota Vikings hired for their on-water orgy. Unfortunately, no orgies were had on our trip.

1) 2003 52B Christmas

Not only my favorite group shot, but also probably one of my favorite pictures period.
Interesting Trivia: The girls wanted to have a nice "family Christmas." We drew names, exchanged presents, and watched "Frosty the Snowman" and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." Well Uncle Josh and 2nd Cousin Piddy must come from dysfunctional families because we definitely polished off a suitcase that evening.

Interesting Trivia 2: Yep, there's an alternate picture. Unlike the other 2 pics in this list w/ alternate pictures, I'm not really sure how this one came about.

"Best friends means I pulled the trigger."

"Your head will collaspe if there's nothing in it. And you'll ask yourself...where is my mind?"

Top 5 Deadly Wrestling Finishers

While every wrestling move has potential to seriously injure if done wrong, these five have potential to paralyze if done wrong by a fraction of an inch.

5) Scott Hall - "Razor's Edge" (WWE/WCW/TNA/Indies)
4) Undertaker/Kane - "Tombstone Piledriver" (WWE)
(FYI: This move has been partially-outlawed in the WWE)
3) The Hurricane - "Vertabreaker" (WCW/WWE)
(FYI: Outlawed in the WWE)
2) Victoria - "Widow's Peak" (WWE)
(I'm surprised they a) let this move go, b) allow a woman to do it)
1) Petey Williams - "The Canadian Destroyer" (TNA)

Jumping front flip into a sit-down piledriver. Move can only be described as "sick."

Top 5 One Hit Wonders That Had Really Bad Songs...But I Like Them Nonetheless

Damn that was a long title.

5) Falco - "Rock Me Amadeus"
4) Nena - "99 Luftballoons"
3) Snow - "Informer"
2) Haddaway - "What Is Love?"
1) Rockwell - "Somebody's Watching Me"

How do you have Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, sing the hook on your song, be the son of a Motown excutive, and STILL manage to not be able to muster up more than one big single?

And as an aside, Avril Lavigne's "Complicated" probably would have had the top spot on this list if it wasn't for that whole thing of her having more than one big hit. I loved that song seriously expecting it to cement her firmly in the 1-Hit Wonder Hall of Fame -- then comes along "Sk8er Boi." Phooey.

Top 5 Videogame Systems

5) SEGA Genesis
4) Nintendo Entertainment System
3) SEGA Dreamcast
2) Sony PlayStation 2
1) Super Nintendo Entertainment System

Yes. I ranked the Dreamcast above both the NES and Genesis. The DC was hot shit.

I Got Five On It - Introduction

I'll be honest. I don't need anywhere else to post on the Internet. This I know.

But, I love lists. I don't know why, but I just do. Countdowns, Charts, Lists. You rank 'em, I'll read.

Well anywhoo, while poking around my friend Sarah's blog, I noticed that she started a "Top 5." Not a particular Top 5, just pretty much whatever she felt like.

Of course you know I ate that idea up with a spoon.

Anyways, upon further inspection, I saw that Sarah actually swiped this idea from Dave, one of her friends. So of course, I read his stuff too. But in my reading, I came across his reason for starting a "Top 5," which was pretty original

"I love the movie "High Fidelity" with John Cusack. In that film, the characters are always coming up with these silly "Top Five..." lists. Most of the lists in the movie pertain to music, but I always thought that it would be cool to keep track of my own Top Fives and now I've decided to share them with the world."

I love it.

So that brings us to now. Basically, this will be my area for Top Fives. This should be interesting. And expect this to be updated often. I don't have to worry about "gluttoning" blog space with stuff that's trivial to even me, because hey, that's the whole point of this blog.

This should be fun.
