Top 5 All Star Festivites

5) National Hockey Leage: NHL All Star Game, Skills Challenge, Rookie Game - This whole event would be cooler if they could make up their damn mind on the format. Defending Champs v. League All Stars, East v. West, USA v. the World, North America v. the World, no game due to the Olympics (2006), a half-assed game due to the Olympics (2002).

4) NASCAR: Nextel Cup All Star Challenge @ Lowe's Motor Speedway - I don't watch NASCAR, so I have no clue what happens at this event outside of the main race. But ya know what, I like it. I think its because all the cars have new "skins." And that in itself is enough to get me to watch it for at least an hour or so.

3) World Wrestling Entertainment: Fan Axxess Weekend, WrestleMania Recap, the Slammys, Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, WrestleMania. Eventhough the WWE doesn't have an "all-star" break this is as close as you're going to get. Packed with wall-to-wall nostalgia, this is the time of the year that makes every WWE fan tingle inside.

2) Major League Baseball: HomeRun Derby, Celebrity Softball, the Futures game, and the All-Star game. Unlike the #1 selection, you're never really promised excitement w/ any of the events, but when they hit, they hit gold.

1) NBA All Star Weekend: Rookie Game, 3 Point Contest, Slam Dunk Contest, Skills Challenge, Shooting Stars (NBA/WNBA/NBA Legend). All that before the actual game. Makes the whole weekend feel like an event.
